About Dr Mark F. Wyatt

I set up Wyatt Analytical Ltd. in June 2021 to continue doing what I’ve been doing for most of my career – helping scientists of various disciplines get the analytical data they need to progress their work. I offer a range of mass spectrometry and allied services, problem-solving, project management, and consultancy to both academia and industry.

Brief Biography:

Appointed Secretary of the RSC South East Wales Local Section in January 2022. In June 2021, founded Wyatt Analytical Ltd. following voluntary severance from Swansea University. Joined the Swansea laboratories (previously funded by EPSRC and named UK NMSF and UK NMSSC) in 2002 as a Research Officer to develop the MALDI-TOF service, later being promoted to Senior Research Officer. Involved with laboratory management, commercial contract negotiation, service & research analyses, education & training, publicity and outreach activities during my time at Swansea. Completed Ph.D. in 2002, entitled “Analysis of Acrylic Polymers by MALDI-TOF Mass Spectrometry“ from the IRC in Polymer Science and Technology at Durham University. The project was supervised by Prof. Randal Richards, in collaboration with Dr Tony Jackson at ICI Technology. The previous twelve months were spent in Analytical Services at Eli Lilly in Speke. Graduated in 1997 with a B.Sc.
